Hi my name is Sara and I am fundraising on behalf of my cousins family in Gaza and hoping to help them evacuate. Please see details of their family and story below.
Hello,
I am Ishak kassab, a 29 years old who works as an upskillig assistant in Gaza Sky Geeks program at Mercy Corps Organization in Gaza.
I came from a family of seven, my parents, my brothers, my sister and I.
More than half a year now had passed since our life in our homeland has literally stopped. Since the 7th of October,2023 everything in our life has changed, We're away from our home for more than six months now ,which is now partially destroyed as a result of Israeli airstrikes and bombs at the north of Gaza, and still counting.
Both of my parents have chronic diseases which need continuous care and follow up. Their medications all over this period of time could barely be found and the lack of the appropriate health care in these circumstances can endanger their lives at any moment now..
My mom has chronic hypertension, Diabetes type II, Addison disease ;which needs continuous daily intake of "hydrocortisone" which is a medicine that no longer can be found here in Gaza anymore.
My dad, moreover, has had a heart attack at the last year, which he underwent coronary angiography for, and found out that most of his heart vessels were already blocked and may need to undergo an urgent surgery at anytime now.
All of this can't be done if we were at Gaza with all of these circumstances going around.
Here's a glimpse of our life before this war had begun:
My sister, Lina, used to work as a physician and was at her 3rd year of residency at Ob/Gyn department at Al-Shifa Hospital which became now a lifeless place and turned out to be a huge mass grave for all those innocent people being killed at North of Gaza.
My brother, Ahmad, also is a civil engineer who was at the beginning of his career life, was working in an engineering company.
And my brother yousef, is a freshly graduate programmer who was a trainee in a programming company, and he's now unemployed too.
And lastly, my little brother Mohammed, was at his senior year at college of Civil engineering, he's now away from his university which was destroyed since the beginning of this war and stopped his studying since then.
All of us, with all of our hopes ,dreams and goals to achieve are living with no hope to return to where we were, neither to start all-over again; in a destroyed city, full of war that seems to has no end.
Our future now is dark ,uncertain and full of doubts..
Your donations to us will cover the costs of Egyptian border crossing (a total of 35,000 USD, 5000 USD per adult person),
passport fees(a total of 1000 USD), additional transaction fees to the Egyptian banks (5000 USD), and GoFundMe fees as well which are 2.9% + 0.30 per donation, with that in mind, we've set the goal to 45,000 USD to give a small buffer.
In summary, our goal is to access vital health care and medicine for my parents, continue our studies, secure employment, and ultimately achieve our dreams and restore sense of stability to our lives.
Your generous contribution no matter the amount will make a profound difference in our lives.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Ishak Kassab
