URGENT FUNDS FOR FAT CHARLIE

Update 03/07/2024

Charlie has had his dental surgery and is healing amazingly. After his final check up on the 8th he will be booked in for vaccinations, which is his final step before he can be officially adopted!

This communities generosity has given Charlie his happy ever after. Your donations have completely covered his medical costs and we at Silth's cannot thank you all enough for helping us give this old street Tom a second chance. We could not have done this without you ♥

Update 09/06/2024

We got Charlie's biopsy results back and it's good news - the lump in his mouth doesn't appear to be cancerous! This means it's still a bad infection, but he's already received a strong antibiotic shot so it should be improving already.

Thank you so much to everyone who donated to his fundraiser - although it looks like he won't need cancer treatments he'll still need a big dental and follow up tests for his mouth infection. The funds we are raising allow us to be confident we can cover these costs.

Charlie is settling in really well indoors, loving the warmth and comforts of living with his new family

Charlie needs serious medical help after living on the streets for years. His mouth is a mess of broken teeth, pus, and potentially cancerous lumps. His FIV test came back positive, and he is (despite his name), underweight and struggling with a flea infestation.

The vets think Charlie has a good chance at recovery and having a happy healthy life, but we really need your help.

Charlie's vet bill yesterday cost £368.37, which we all hoped would be a simple neutering. Charlie ended up needing a two week antibiotic shot because of the infection in his mouth, steroids to assist with the infection, and a biopsy of the lump in his mouth.

With both Charlie's future dental and potential cancer treatments, his medical bills are likely to cost at least £1000.

We have recently given another old and sick cat a chance at his forever home, but the bills are adding up fast for these cats. We really need your help so we can keep giving cats like Charlie a chance!

Charlie has lived on the streets for a number of years. He became known to one of our local volunteers, who takes care of many strays on the street. It was clear that Charlie was once owned, as he was an incredibly friendly and affectionate, and wanted nothing more than to come inside. Our volunteer kept him fed and gave him an outdoor shelter, until Charlie could finally come inside.

Recently we noticed that Charlie had been suffering with his mouth. Thankfully, someone in our team knew of a home where Charlie could recover from his time on the streets and whose family are hoping to offer him his happily ever after.

Charlie was unneutered, so we knew that this was the first step on his journey inside - while under anaesthetic, the vets were also finally able to take a good look inside his mouth to see what was going on. What they found was worse than we were expecting - bad teeth, pus, and a potentially cancerous lump. This has all certainly been made worse by the fact that Charlie is also FIV positive.

Charlie's road to recovery may be a long one and is likely to be costly and potentially complicated, but vets are currently confident he will be able to live a happy and healthy life after them.

Charlie is currently adoring his time inside his foster house, and we want to do everything we can to ensure he can continue enjoying it. But to do this we need your help!

Any donations, no matter how big or small, would be hugely appreciated. All money raised by this fundraiser will go towards Charlie's medical care - your donations will give an old street cat his second chance at life.

Should more money be raised than is needed to cover Charlie's bills, it will be used for the medical costs of other animals in Silth's Sanctuary care.
