Urgent Funds for Critical Life Needs

This is a difficult thing for me to write. Unfortunately, I am compelled to reach out to you for financial assistance due to my current circumstances.

In 2018, I left New York City to care for my elderly mother, who passed away in July 2021. Since her passing, I have been seeking disability support due to recently diagnosed ADHD and bipolar disorder, which make it challenging for me to maintain regular employment. Despite medication, I struggle with focus and memory issues.

The process of filing for disability has been lengthy, particularly here in Maine where social assistance infrastructure is outdated. My initial application through one organization was unsuccessful due to lack of support, leading me to start over with a new organization, Goodwin Community Health. They provided me with medical professionals and a social worker who helped complete my application. Although the application was denied initially, I have now hired a disability attorney to assist with the appeals process.

Regarding my living situation, after my mother's passing, I stayed in her rented house until May when I was asked to leave by the landlords. I then spent time with my sister in North Carolina before returning to Maine, where I have been residing in a motel, thanks to the generosity of friends.

To address my immediate needs, I have started a GoFundMe campaign. My most pressing requirement is two weeks' rent ($800) to cover the remainder of February. Additionally, I need $266 for my storage facility fee on the 24th of each month. Lastly, I require funds to repair my car after an accident, though the total cost is currently unknown.
