Urgent: Fund Kaiya's Judo Journey
Donation protected
I am proud to introduce the newly crowned USA Judo Youth National Champion at -63 kilos, Kaiya Johnston. Kaiya, like always, has been working hard to be the best Judoka and human she can be. Jigoro Kano, the founder of Judo said , “where there is effort, there is achievement.” Kaiya achieved one of the first steps on the long road to the Olympics, being part of the US World Team and qualifying to compete on the international level. The Judo delegation will compete in UNDER THREE WEEKS in Lima, Peru. Kaiya has also been selected as one of a 5- member team to compete in the Japanese High School Team Championships in July, quite a big deal.
Some of you may remember that Kaiya represented Team USA this time last year, as a first year Cadet in the under 70kg division, bringing home Bronze from the Pan American Championship at just 14 and underweight! Absolutely outstanding achievement at such a young age.
Unlike many countries, the United States does not financially support its Olympic hopefuls, leaving most athletes to rely on friends, family or find the ever elusive corporate sponsorship. So, if you know a CEO that's dying to sponsor an Olympic hopeful, we have their girl!
If you are in the position to support Kaiya financially on her Journey, Fantastic! Thank you so much! These competitions, along with other International tournaments are the path to the Olympics. If you are unable to help financially, (we completely understand) would you mind passing this on? You never know who it might get to. Either way, we are so extremely grateful to our wonderful friends and family that are helping Kaiya realize her Olympic dream any way they can.
This financial need is URGENT as Kaiya must confirm her position and pay USA Judo for registration, lodging, transportation etc by THIS Wednesday afternoon (in TWO DAYS!!)
Thank You so much!
