Urgent: Fund for John John' Youngblood”s Critical Chemo
Donativo protegido
This is an urgent request, to all the angels out there, that know our buddy John John Youngblood. For those that do not know him personally, please help in this LIFE SAVING CAMPAIGN! He must start his treatment NEW CHEMO TREATMENT (with a HIG outrageous price-tag) right away, as he is already having complications from stopping CHEMO. He was doing so well and to have to STOP DUE TO PHARMACEUTICAL OVERPRICING! He said to me, he won’t cause his family to go into debt for the rest of their lives just because of his need for treatment! I am pleading with everyone out there to reach into their ❤️ and their pockets and together we can take this burden and decision, off the plate for him. He will then be able to continue his treatment, with our help.
We have all been enlightened, entertained, and empowered by his strength and ABILITIES!!!! I have started this to assist with the heavy stress and financial burden, that the medical system has placed upon our friend John John. They have put him in a position now that he has to choose between fighting for his life and giving up. They have created such a financial burden, that he has now had to make the toughest decision of all! Even though he has the ability to recover and fight towards a life of normalcy once again, the price tag they have put on his medical care, is more than they can endure. Which, only gives him the choice to stop medical treatment, because he cannot afford to continue with the price tag they have put on it. If anyone has any connections, to somehow find a miracle pharmaceutical company, or hospital, that can provide this at a cost they can afford… Our only way of helping John-John is to help him, burden the cost to continue his medical treatment. He has done so well!!!!!! I WILL NOT let him have to make the choice to give up, just because of a price tag, that this Pharmaceutical nightmare, has put on his plate! Please help with any denomination… even the cost of a Starbucks… it all adds up! Thank you in advance for DONATING AND SHARING!
JOHN JOHN’S STORY:
Born with Sacral Agenesis meaning tailbone and bottom 3 vertebrae never formed thus causing significant orthopedic problems that required multiple surgeries to bring legs into a position that would allow upright mobility with the use of crutches. Began having symptoms in late summer of 2022. Symptoms included occasional night sweats, digestive issues, and nausea as well constant fatigue, elevated heart rate, and rib area pain. Consulted multiple doctors between August 2022 and January of 2023. Bloodwork consistently indicated low red blood cell count, low hemoglobin, and high white blood cell count. Was diagnosed with significant anemia and told to take iron supplement and drink more water. Continued to get progressively weaker and more fatigued. Skin was extremely pale on 3/19/23 and went to ER. Was checked into hospital with a diagnosis of possible sepsis. Determined that blood loss was occurring during bowel movements. Was given 2 units of blood to raise hemoglobin and prepped for colonoscopy. On 3/21/23 the colonoscopy revealed a large mass in the transverse colon that appeared to be malignant. Doctors had not previously suspected colon cancer because of young age and no previous cancers in any close relatives. Lab confirmed adenocarcinoma. Subsequent MRI revealed metastasis to liver. Surgery performed in Houston on 4/16/23. Removed approximately 10” of colon and resected. Was told that liver resection was not possible and that chemo would begin when sufficiently recovered from colon surgery. Recovery from surgery was slow, difficult, and complicated by congenital handicap. Continued to grow weaker and sicker through May and into June. Noticeable deterioration in condition was noted during a telemed with doctor on 6/6/23 and was told to come to Houston the next day. Checked into Houston Methodist on 6/7/23. Started chemo on 6/8/23. Was put on a 3 week cycle consisting of taking chemo for 2 weeks followed by a week off then repeat. Initially got worse for a week or so but then gradually continued to get better over the next 10-11 months. Chemo side affects are difficult to deal with and significantly affect quality of life, however there were many good days with the ability to do normal things. Had a MRI on 7/25/24. On 7/29/24 was told the MRI showed no active cancer but CEA was still very high so they wanted to do a PET scan to confirm MRI results. PET was performed on 7/31/24. On 8/7/24 doctor said PET scan showed that the previous chemo had stopped working and that there was active cancer in the liver with spread to 1 lymph node. He said he needed to switch to a new chemo. On 8/9/24 the clinic called and said the chemo needed now was on a 2 week cycle with a cost of $26,000 per cycle and that the copay would be $5,200 every 2 weeks for chemo alone. The copay cost for chemo alone with the previous chemo regimen was $450 every 3 weeks. Every week of delay starting new chemo will reduce its effectiveness. Starting to turn yellow and having night sweats again
