Urgent Financial Help Needed: Support My Dad's Cancer Fight

I am reaching out today with a heavy heart and a plea for help. I regret to share that my family is facing an urgent and challenging situation since my dad, Robert Mihnjak, has been diagnosed with fast-growing cancer of the lymphatic glands in his left leg. He has had 5 surgeries in the last year, with 2 of them being within the last month. This has left our family in a state of shock and financial strain.

My dad has always been the person who can put a smile on anyone's face with his jokes, the first to help when someone needed assistance, and overall, the reason his little girls were overflowing with love and happiness. He has been an amazing father to myself, 20, and my little sister who is 11 years old. When not working, he enjoyed going on long hikes in the mountains and spending his days surrounded by nature, which this aggressive cancer has taken away his ability to do so.

He is now unable to walk due to the extreme swelling of his left leg, he is unable to do normal daily activities, take care of himself, and enjoy his life anymore. Due to the cancer, his arteries are extremely sensitive and exposed, and while he was being taken care of by a nurse, instead of being gentle and careful with his leg, she was careless and rough, and in the middle of the night, his artery tore. This did not happen once, but twice, setting my dad back in his recovery, but adding on to the pain, struggle, and expenses.

He does not look like himself anymore, as shown in the picture on the far left, but his heart continues to be filled with love for everyone around him.

He is very driven and determined to continue fighting until he is cancer-free, so he can go back to being our dad. I made this GoFundMe campaign to collect donations that will go directly towards covering the surgical expenses and the initial stages of my dad's treatment plan. Time is of the essence, and your contributions will be a tremendous help for us to provide him with the prompt medical intervention he needs.
