Hi,
I'm the lucky mom of a very special gentle mixed breed named Fuzzy who I rescued from a dog meat market in South Korea and brought home to the U.S. in 2015.
Friends and family call him "Our little Buddhist monk" because of his compassion for other animals. He once saved a baby possum from other dogs and gently laid it down in my mother's hands.
Also, he got lost once in Seoul and made his way to a Buddhist temple where the monks enjoyed his company for around a week.
Finally having a large yard to run around in here in Tennessee, he got a chance to heal from the trauma he suffered before being rescued and accepted his new life of running free and being snuggled and pampered.
He is between 12 and 14, based on what the vets could estimate, and has been happy and very much loved.
However, several months ago I noticed that his eyes had suddenly become a little cloudy and was shocked by how quickly it developed over the past few months after having his cherry eye tissue surgically tucked in both eyes.
Now he's nearly lost all of his vision in his right eye and 75% in the left. He whimpers a lot because he suddenly feels lost, scared and keeps bumping into things.
Since this has happened he's become depressed, shakes a lot from fear and sleeps most of the day. It's difficult to calm him when he's awake because he lost his sight so quickly.
The ophthalmologist says the inflammation was severe, causing cataracts to develop and progress quickly. We can probably save his left eye, and have a small chance to save the right one, but we have to work fast.
Because of the rapid progression of the disease I don't have much time to get funds together to save his sight without some help.
If some of you wouldn't mind tossing in a little to help get Fuzzy's eyes fixed I will be providing the receipts and I've attached the estimate for the next exam, ultrasound, surgery and anaesthesia below which stands at $4,845.
I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you so much.
Mia
