Urgent eviction help: Avoiding or preparing for homelessness
Donation protected
Hello, things are bad! Allison has been in and out of the hospital, and I haven’t found work yet. We’re trying to make rent before January, so we don’t owe two months. Finding work is hard given I don’t know where we’ll live. I think the plan is to get a customer service job ASAP while I look for another technical writing job. I don’t think we’ll successfully get any assistance from the city, so we need to make rent before January—in hopes that we can get jobs in January. Alli is working with the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation to help with placement after being so sick for so long, and I hope that in the new year, maybe the tech industry will start hiring again. We’re trying not to be homeless in Denver--next to Aurora, CO. We don’t want to get caught up in a sweep. We’re trying to stay housed, and if we fail at that, we’re directing the money to keeping our car and hotel rooms for when it’s very cold. We’d also like to try to keep our dog, Buddy. He saved Allison’s life at one point, and we owe it to him to give him the best life we can. We’re a sad little family trying to make it into the New Year. Any help would be appreciated—a donation, a share, or any good thoughts.
