My name is shalana and it's an emergency that I get my family into a safe and habitable home ASAP. We were lied to about this property when my fiance signed a rent to own/land contract last year. We paid $7,000 cash in June 2025 and have been paying $1,000 a month directly to her bank every month... Yes I'm seeking legal aid before I go any further typing this post...

The city just did an inspection and told us we have at best a few weeks to move out because, they will be returning and condemning the house. The guy who did the inspection informed us that there were no records of the owner ever getting an inspection on the home in the city records. There were a lot of violations but the most concerning is the sewage in the basement. We have contacted an attorney and legal aid but, that isn't helping us now. Even if we can sue her in the long run for lying to us and having us living in unsafe conditions, we need help to relocate immediately!

We got scammed and, I believe that we're not the first people she has done this to.

I was very hesitant to make a Go Fund Me for my family but, I have had a lot of people encouraging me to do so because we have a very short amount of time to move our family in the dead of winter. We are good people and did not deserve for this to happen to us

Even if you can't help my family, sharing this post might lead us to people who can. I would be unmeasurably grateful for any help and support we can get right now.
