Hello my name is Callee Ferguson and I want to tell you about my dad Norman Ferguson. The family bond I share with my father is the most tender experience that we, as gods children could ever be blessed with. He has been my rock, my confidant and my greatest motivator. He has also risen to be a pillar of success as he sacrificed and worked hard to help my mother, my brother and I lead the the best life he could provide. He taught me right from wrong and has always been an upstanding moral and positive role model. So as I embark on the beginnings of a upward journey to a successful future myself, my father is in need. The business he worked so hard to build, has been decimated by the covid 19 pandemic and he is suffering from Anti-synthetase syndrome, which is an autoimmune lung disease that affects your lungs, joints and skin. Although not a smoker his breathing capacity is only about 25 percent and he currently needs to be on oxygen 24 hours a day. His condition has worsened over the last decade making every little step a struggle.
The only option for his survival is a double lung transplant, in Nashville at Vanderbilt. His condition has deteriorated to the point where he is eligible to be put on the waiting list however the excitement of his eligibility was short lived and soon the reality of the financial requirements began to add up. We live in Bowling Green and will be required to temporarily relocate for 3 to 4 months of rehabilitation once the transplant is done. I will be required to stay the entire 3 months with him as his care giver. Vanderbilt requires proof of living expenses for at least 3 months before allowing the surgery, so the need is urgent.
The housing alone is $2,600 a month and Holding a fundraiser during a pandemic would be a difficult task to say the least. Im doing everything I can and part of that is reaching out for help. Every donation will be a blessing to us. If you are not able to donate, please pray for my dad and us and share this! Thank you all and God Bless!!!
