In Loving Memory of Sugar,

We are heartbroken to share that sweet Sugar, who was fighting so hard for her life, sadly didn’t make it through surgery today (10/8).

She was surrounded by love, comfort, and care until her very last moment. Even though her time here was far too short, she touched so many hearts and will never be forgotten.

We want to thank everyone who donated, shared, and prayed for her. Your kindness helped give her a chance, and ensured she knew love, safety, and compassion. Please send prayers and love, Laura and Robert’s way. They did everything and more to do what they could to keep sweet sugar girl going but unfortunately her body couldn’t keep fighting.

Laura, the dedicated founder of Libby and Mace’s Place Rescue, has always gone above and beyond for animals in critical need, pulling them from the brink, nursing them back to health, and finding them loving homes.

Now she needs our help.

Her personal dog, Sugar, was viciously attacked by another dog last week. She was rushed to the vet and received immediate treatment. Sadly, Sugar has since gone septic and her condition is critical.

UPDATE AS OF 10/8 sugar has surgery this afternoon. Infection is getting worse. Air is leaking from her esophagus or trachea.. send healing vibes, sugars way

The veterinary costs are now expected to reach $15,000 and Sugar is currently under intensive care at CVRC.

UPDATE as of 10/7 6:30pm - WE ONLY HAVE TO REACH $4,500 goal now the rest was covered!!!

We’re putting out an urgent plea to help Laura cover these unexpected, overwhelming medical bills. She has never hesitated to help animals in their darkest hour and now it’s our turn to give back.

Sugar doesn’t deserve this.

Every dollar helps, whether it’s $1, $5, $50.. it all adds up.

Let’s take this burden off Laura’s shoulders so she can focus on what matters most: giving Sugar the fighting chance she deserves.
