Urgent Dental Care for Local Food Worker

Hello everyone! Thank you for opening this link! The lovely Caren started this GoFundMe out of the kindness of her heart after I told her about my bad teeth and all the work I need done and the anxiety this has been causing me.

I didn't know she was going to start it, and she made sure not to identify me, in case I was, ya know, embarrassed. I'll admit, I am kind of embarrassed coming out and asking for help, but the situation in my mouth is quickly turning into a potential emergency situation, and whatever will help raise enough for me to save my teeth, I'll do, including putting my name on this so that I can share it with people I know.

I want to say, I know I'm not special, and everyone has struggles right now. Believe me, I don't feel good about having to ask for help like this. I'm grateful to Caren for getting it going, as I wouldn't have done it on my own.

Hello neighbors. As you may know, many of the people who work in stores and restaurants along Chicago's most bustling stretches do not have health insurance or the ability to pay for dental work.

A person who makes food for us in Andersonville and lives in Lincoln Square needs at least 3 root canals. They have a nub of a tooth and a friend of theirs gave them an Rx for penicillin. This is not OK.

I have started this GoFundMe for them. I am protecting their privacy, but we can set up a call or in-person visit for anyone who wants to meet them. We can provide receipts for dental work if asked.

UIC dental school is so booked they don't even answer the phone. We found another dental school, Midwestern, but it's very far from where they live without a car.

Let's take care of a person who serves us day in and day out and, like many workers, cannot afford their own healthcare.
