URGENT COUNTDOWN FOR NATIONAL INFRASTRUCTURE BANK

Dear Friends,

The Coalition for a National Infrastructure Bank (NIB) is in an urgent countdown for the NIB. We are planning an immediate ad buy with the National Conference of State Legislators (NCSL), the premier website which reaches over 500,000 government officials. This will cost at least $2,000. National organizations are convening their conferences over the summer, and we have new resolutions in many of them; Council of State Governments, League of United Latin American Citizens, and the National League of Cities. More national support statements are in the works and more members of Congress joining the campaign. Congress goes into summer recess at the end of July, so we have to ramp it up now.

Meanwhile, economic experts and the public are engaged in a futile debate, torn between two bad alternatives: Accelerating inflation or plunging recession. The $5 trillion National Infrastructure Bank is the only exit from this mess. It is simple. Build our way out of the crisis! We must launch an immediate return to production. Inflation is simply the result of trillions of dollars of financial bailouts generating bubbles on Wall Street and swamping our deteriorating industrial base. Too much money chasing too few goods. We cannot even produce baby formula! We are becoming a third world country! It is not an accident that support for the National Infrastructure Bank policy is growing by the day.

This ad campaign is working. Over the past several months the Coalition has run ads in the following publications: Roll Call (Capitol Hill), Delaware News Journal, Scranton Times-Tribune (both Biden targets), Buffalo News, Albuquerque Journal, Tacoma News Tribune, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, and many others. The result is a marked increase in support for the NIB, including twenty-five state legislatures have introduced or passed resolutions to congress. Let’s not miss the opportunity to get the word out.
