Hi, my name is Ava, and if you know anything about me and my partner Jackson, you know we have three budgies (parkeets). Lucy, Layla, and Elsie. Jackson and I got Layla last December, and she's become not only a favorite of our friends when they come over and visit us, but a beloved companion to Lucy and now Elsie.

Unfortunately, Layla's health has taken a drastic downturn. She's lethargic, is barely drinking water, and may have internal bleeding due to the color of her droppings. She's also been leaning to one side, making us think she may be suffering the effects of a stroke or seizure.

Today (Sunday 6/6), we've called every emergency medical vet in the area, from Rochester to Ithaca, and are unable to find care for her. Avian veterinary medicine is few and far to come by. We have an avian veterinarian we see normally, but they are not open until tomorrow. We're hoping she makes it though the night so that we can take her there first thing tomorrow, however the vet bills tend to be very expensive, and Jackson and I, being very young adults, have limited funds available.

We really don't want to lose Layla, so we're asking for your help, no matter how small the contribution. Thank you
