Last night 5/5 at 1020 PM I encountered this female Aussie in the middle of Sheep Creek Rd in Phelan. She had been hit by a car and was covered in blood unable to walk. Someone had called animal control, but I decided to take her home to prevent her from being euthanized. Kept her overnight and took her to the vet this morning for an exam where she was administered a pain relief injection. The vet said her vitals were good, but she obviously has a backend injury and needs radiographs. She has a very split lip/snoot and some broken teeth. Thought to be about 9 months old, she’s not spayed and had already carried puppies. No microchip. She still cannot walk more than a few steps.
I couldn’t afford the $94 for the exam and meds to begin with so I had to take her home in hopes of raising money to cover her care and X-rays/future care. I have several of my own dogs I’ve rescued from our desert streets so funds are very tight.
Thank you in advance for any consideration to donate to “Honey’s” care.
