Urgent Care for Stabler's Emergency Loss of Leg Function!

So you may know our loveable pippo Stabler as best friend to cats and a dog who has been through a LOT in his 8 years of life.

Today some freak accident that we don't even understand caused him to lose function in his back legs.

One moment he was smelling Joel's butt the next he was screaming in pain unable to walk. I went into vet tech mode and loaded him with gabapentin while putting a sling under his hips to get him into a position that didn't cause him to be in such pain and we laid on the floor until he calmed down.

We were going to try and get him to the e-vet an hour away but by the time we could get the appointment - he finally was settled. We have him on cage rest in a crate (which he NEVER has set foot in since he was mauled by our foster dog so you know he is out of it with pain).

As someone with a lot of vet tech background, I am very worried by the knuckling and lack of coordination suddenly in his back legs. This could be:

1. neurological

2. spinal

3. something I dont have experience with so scary af

To make matters worse, Joel was supposed to go back to work from vacation tomorrow and they are basicalky threatening his job if he doesn't show - which he can't because this can't wait until Monday!

So I hate to even make one of these but I know sometimes shit happens and that usually is pet related emergencies!

I apologize in advance are looking for any help for the insane treatment and possibly Joel not having a job anymore.
