Hi everyone,
I’m reaching out today on behalf of my mom, step dad and brother and their sweet puppy, Simon, who was the victim of a vicious and completely unprovoked dog attack by a neighbor’s dog.
Simon is more than a pet—he’s a member of our family. On June 25th, 2025, while in my parent’s backyard with their other dogs , he was attacked without warning. The injuries are severe: I don’t know the medical terms right now, but Simon suffered an extent of injuries that need immediate medical attention. He got his arm, broken in half and his one paw pad is completely crushed, and he has a big chunk of meat taken out of his arm. He was rushed to an emergency vet and has already undergone—x-rays, wound care, bad pain management but surgery is needed.
He has a broken bone that requires a surgical plate to repair. One of the bones in his paw has been shattered and may need to be amputated. He may also require a cast and ongoing wound care. In the worst-case scenario, the entire limb may have to be amputated to save his life.
What’s made this even harder is that we have been unable to get any cooperation from the dog’s owners. Despite multiple attempts, they have refused to answer the door for us or even for the police. We are now pursuing legal action to determine whether their homeowners insurance may cover any portion of the costs. However, that process takes time, and we simply cannot wait, Simon needs medical attention immediately.
The costs are adding up quickly, and right now the vet bills are projected to be 3k-7k. We are doing everything we can, but this kind of emergency expense is overwhelming.
We’re asking for help to cover:
* Emergency vet care
* Surgery and medications
* Follow-up treatment and recovery costs
Every single donation—no matter the size—helps ease the burden and gives Simon a fighting chance to heal and come back home. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this with others is also deeply appreciated.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for reading and for caring. Your kindness and support means everything to us.
I would like to also mention that my brother when he tried to get the dog off of my mother’s dog that he was also scratched and bit in the process.
With gratitude,
Elizabeth Rogers & Family
UPDATE * great news we were able to get a more affordable Surgery at another pet hospital! We still need donations to help meet the cost!. The cost is now 1800!
