Stay Wild Rescue had a traumatic weekend, resulting in Dan, Jane and poor Pip needing medical treatment. Pip’s family had just arrived to pick him up to go to his new home and in the excitement that occurs with getting all the dogs into their places for new arrivals a gate was left ajar and all 17 dogs were let into the yard at once. One of the other dogs injured Pip badly and while intervening Dan and Jane were also injured.

Pip’s wonderful new family offered to take him to Cornell after Jane called and got him in on emergency services. While Dan and Jane received stitches and medical care at the human hospital, poor Pip was seen at Cornell while his new family waited with him. This was the first time he met them but he knew he was with his people and sat quietly on their laps. He was admitted for surgery and we are still awaiting the final outcome.

Pip was rescued from an Amish farm 2 weeks ago, he is only 4 years old and had lived most of those years inside a stall. We immediately had him neutered, vaccinated and he was ready for his new life to begin. He is the sweetest little Boston Terrier and deserves that better life we promised him.

The estimate for his care is between $5,000-$6,000. If you can help us get Pip the care he needs so that he can go on to live a happy, full life with the wonderful family who is waiting to adopt him, please donate.

We do the best we can with very limited resources and no shelter space. We have been trying to create a better set up… this incident is a reminder as to why we MUST have a better set-up before we can take in any more rescues. We desperately need to build out our intake space and find more fosters.
