Urgent Care for OP: Melissa's Beloved Cat

Donation protected
Hey everyone! My name is Melissa and I'm trying to raise funds to help with my soulcat OP's medical bills. OP came into my life in 2013 after my neighbors found her on the side of the road, unable to really run and with an injured eye. After going to the vet for treatment, we learned she had ocular herpes and had 19 ticks deep in her ears. We tried to save her eye, but ultimately we weren't able to. All the ticks were removed, and she began moving around better. She's been with me for high school, bad relationships, college, and mental health crises. She's 12 years old now and recently underwent her first dental extraction and deep cleaning. She was having a really hard time the first two days after surgery, so I brought her in for a checkup because I was just so worried about her. She had no interest in food or water during these days despite having received pain medication. She hadn't eaten anything since pre-op Tuesday at 8 pm or had any bowel movements. If you know about cats, they really, really can decline quickly, and I didn't want to risk anything happening, so I called the vet office to get advice. They wanted me to go ahead and bring her in, so I left work to get her seen. Her body temperature was 5° below their normal threshold, so they did bloodwork and chest x-rays as she started having labored breathing. She had 160 mL worth of fluid surrounding her heart and lungs that has now been tapped and drained allowing her a little easier breathing. She is staying with the vet for inpatient care, and the quote for her care is between $1,600 and $2,600. If I could even raise a couple hundred dollars, that would make a SIGNIFICANT difference. Thank you guys for reading this, and for supporting her. Even if you can't donate, please share the word as much as possible.

I wanted to edit with more information, as I wasn't thinking clearly when I first wrote this. OPs bloodwork indicated serious elevation in her white blood cells and reflected levels seen in patients with lymphoma. We are going to keep working to treat her and get her back home to us as soon as we can. I'll make another update when I know more after tomorrow and this weekend.
