Hi all -
I am coming to the Internet and community to ask for help raising funds for my 8 month old puppy Miss Ruby. At 4 months old she unfortunately had an accident resulting in her having a fracture in her back leg. She was playing with my other dog when he jumped up and crushed her, and I immediately rushed to the vet. For 2 months we were in recovery mode, with lots of days off of work and finances became a struggle. I work part time on a farm/small business so money has always been a little tight and I unfortunately have not been able to build my credit enough for a care credit account. I’ve looked into applying for pet insurances and they all result in no coverage for pre-existing injuries. While the injury is now on her opposite back leg, it is considered a compensatory injury.
My heart hurts for her and I am doing my best to keep my head on straight and reach out for help. She most likely will be needing an ACL surgery, or something of that nature. While last time we scraped by and made it work I am still drowning in financial recovery to afford another big vet bill. I’m at a loss but I’m not ready to give up on this dog. Please if you have it in your heart to assist during this time I would greatly appreciate it. Your donations would be directly going to any and all future vet bills over these next couple of months and to get her on the road to recovery.
EDIT: as of today it is looking more like a patellar issue vs ACL which is better news! Our goal is still to raise $3k for her expenses. Thank you!
EDIT: As of Monday the 25th - her X-rays showed that she does have a partial ACL tear along with the luxation… she will be going to a specialist on Tuesday the 9th for further examination.
EDIT: As of Tuesday 9/9/25 , we are strapping in for surgery, we still need to schedule an appointment are making it a priority over everything. I’ve attached an image with our game plan with the vet specialist & we are manifesting the best outcome. She has PL in both of her knees, one being a grade 2 and the other a grade 3. The grade 3 we are concerned about a partial ACL tear but to save us money they will be looking during the luxation surgery to see if it needs repaired.
