Urgent Care for Gumbo's Eye Removal
Donation protected
Gumbo is needing his eye removed, he has a perforated cornea and is bulging. I took him to the vet Friday and nothing they could do in office. Referred me to the the eye care for animals in Kansas. Due to needing the fund at time of service I was not able to get him there immediately. I spoke with them asking what I could do while trying to figure out funds and she told me to keep his eye well lubricated, I’ve been doing as she said but still haveing trouble with getting immediate funds. The eye care clinic quoted his eye removal at $3000-$4000. I found a vet that says they could get it done for about $1000, the eye care clinic said there’s is more expensive because they have everything necessary for the surgery if need and the put something in there to keep his eyelid from sinking in I asked if they had any payment plans and told me about scratch pay and care credit. I applied for both and was denied. I went through a divorce the end of last year and I’m court ordered to pay a lot of money out, of which I don’t have. I’m working what overtime I can to try and catch up. It seems endless. I’m not one to ask for help but I’ve called multiple organizations. And trying to get resources to get the funds. The last I spoke to said typically the have you surrendered your dog, because they have to raise funds to cover the surgery. I do not want to surrender my dog. As you can see he has a brother (rocky) they are inseparable. Both of them are rescue dogs, great dogs I got gumbo at 10 months old from a rescue, they gave me the back story of gumbo found in a dumpster where someone had left him to die. He had a long couple months of a fight with parvo, he recovered from well, gumbo is now 3 years old and a very healthy happy dog. Any donations are very much appreciated.
