Urgent Care for Domino: Your Help Needed!

Hello Everyone,

My name is Amy. I’m here to reach out and I’m raising funds for my five year old, nine pound, Chihuahua Domino who I love dearly. Unfortunately on 04/29/2025, Domino suddenly showed signs of distress and an emergency. These signs were and are neurological knuckling of the paw. Along with paralysis-paresis of mainly his left back leg and his cute curly tail.

Domino was immediately rushed to VCA Alameda East Emergency Veterinary Hospital.

Current Diagnosis: Suspect Intervertebral Herniation, Mild Spinal Cord Injury, IVDD, Mid Lower Back.

Care Instructions: Medications, Strict Rest, Home Physical Therapy, Further Certified Physical Rehabilitation with Specialist, Orthopets Toe-Up Device Boot, 2 Week Primary Care Veterinarian Follow Up, Neurosurgeon Consult, MRI and Surgery.

An estimated cost of $4,500-$10,000 plus.

As of right now… I’m raising money and my goals are monitoring, medications, strict rest, home physical therapy, Orthopets Toe-Up Device Boot and a follow-up with our primary care veterinary clinic. Pending… a possible Neurosurgeon Consult-MRI-Surgery.

I’m in the process of buying the Boot which will prevent further injuries and dragging/knuckling of the paw from paralysis. In the weeks to come I will be scheduling the primary care follow-up exam with the purchase of more medications in mind.

It is not a guarantee that recovery from home and strict rest without surgery for IVDD will work. This process takes patients. It takes time, anywhere from 2 to 12 weeks for recovery to begin. Time is the main key for recovery along with strict rest and the MRI. The MRI will guarantee a proper diagnosis/treatment plan.

Domino and I would like to kindly ask if you could please possibly fund any amount of money to our gofundme for the causes explained above. This represents Domino and his quality of life. He loves to eat, drink, watch tv, walk, run, jump, play fetch, tug of war, snip on toys, sun bathe, garden, take car rides, visit with all his friends, party, go on adventures but most of all he loves to spreed smiles, happiness, affection and joy with the presence of his big heart’n soul.

Our starting goal is $2,000. This goal may change depending on his health.
