My name is Brad Besse and this is my baby girl Celie. She is a chunky monkey! She started off at a slight 6 lbs. but has blossomed into a 12 lb. love bug over the past 6 years. She came to me from River City Chihuahua Rescue (RCCR) after being found on the side of the road. We believe she was used by a breeder and when she developed a large mammary tumor, they discarded her like trash. She has been nothing but a treasure to me since she arrived. She is one of four rescue dogs I have saved over the past 6 years. They are truly the loves of my life.

Celie had an emergency full hip replacement this past Tuesday with a knee surgery to follow. It is important that she heals from this before the knee can be operated on next. Last week, Celie and her sister were playing, it got too rough ending up with her squealing and crying behind the couch. It took a long time to coax her out and when I did, she was severely limping with her hind leg in a very odd position.

Her vet estimates the two surgeries will cost upward of $4,000! Any money donated will be put towards her surgeries and recovery! Being a public school teacher, funds are tight and this is certainly an unexpected expense.
