This is my dear friend and sister in Christ, Rachel Squires. She is 49 years old and the amazing mother of two sons, Michael, 24 ( who is severely autistic and needs regular home care) and Jordan, 21. She runs a successful and very demanding childcare business.

On Jan 30, 2016 Rachel had a hysterectomy due to fibroids. She was told 10 days after surgery that they found cancer Leiomyosarcoma, a very rare and aggressive soft tissue cancer. She would need to do chemo right away and she did a total of 6 cycles of chemo, from April 2016 to August 2016. Thankfully, she then went into remission. A CT scan this past  November 2017, showed that the cancer had returned and had metastasized to stage 4 in the lungs and abdomen . She was put back on chemo in December 2017. In March of 2018, she  had another CT scan that showed the chemo was not working and the tumors had grown. Her oncologist changed the type of chemo she was taking to another drug. She will have another CT scan within a month to see if it is working. 




Rachel’s  love and faith in God has truly been an inspiration! Her faith has kept her at peace during this battle. She has also taken to a completely vegan diet and other natural daily regimens to combat this cancer. After much discussion with family she has chosen to embark on holistic treatment. After being told of a treatment center in Mexico, She desires to try this immediately; unfortunately it is not covered under insurance and she will have to pay out of pocket for the treatment.




Rachel is one of the most giving people I have EVER met.....her love for her sons, the care and support she has given to them all these years....her support of her sister and niece and her childcare families, her church family,......there is not a person she would not desire to help...I am asking that we help Rachel on this path towards healing, for the sake of her sons and family.
