Urgent Care for Bentley's Hiatal Hernia
Spende geschützt
This is Bentley, my 2-year-old Dalmatian baby boy. We rushed him to the ER yesterday with an elevated fever of 105.7 of an unknown origin. After tons of testing and imaging, they found Bentley to have a hiatal hernia, which was likely caused by a birth defect. He has been in the ICU all night on supplemental oxygen (for aspirated pneumonia) caused by the hernia. They are testing a fluid and gas buildup in his left lung area to make sure he isn’t septic. He’s also been on antibiotics, fluids, and pain meds all night long.
This morning his fever has resolved, and they are turning his case over to the surgical team. He still has to have CT imaging and more chest X-rays. So far, his hospital stay has cost $7,000. This surgery is going to be upwards of $10,000, and he is still in the hospital in the ICU. Bentley will not survive without this very aggressive, very expensive surgery. His case is severe. We’re taking out loans and raising credit card limits to save my baby boy. Seriously, any tiny bit helps. I would do anything to bring my boy home safe and well.
