Help a Child Get Necessary & Lifesaving Mental Health Treatment

This fundraiser is on behalf of an incredible teenager who recently survived a suicide attempt. This young person is compassionate, creative, intensely principled and wildly, deeply loved - by their family, friends, teammates & entire community —but they’ve been silently battling severe mental health struggles, even as they tirelessly work to uplift, empower and protect those with less privilege or visibility.

Thanks to the child's brave self-advocacy in alerting their mother after the attempt, they received emergency intervention & hospitalization & daily checks with their therapist and psychiatrist, they are still with us today.

Still, their journey to recovery is only just beginning. They urgently need long-term mental health care, including therapy, medication, and, starting Tuesday, a 45-day program at a specialized residential facility in the USA—services that are undeniably essential but prohibitively expensive. Additionally - the family of 5 has opted to move back to the US from overseas 6 months earlier than planned, in order to situate their beloved child & adored sibling with the care team who will be crucial to their ongoing support, treatment & recovery for at least 4 years.

Their family is doing everything they can, with the aid of the child's incredibly committed team of psychiatric, and therapeutic professionals, but the costs are overwhelming. That’s why we’re asking for your help.
