Hello! When it rains, it pours, right? We started the month finding out that not only are our SNAP benefits going from over $500 a month to $215 for four people, but that we got June's allotment back in May and just never got anything for May. After a lot of research, I found that all of the local food pantries only have hours during my husband's work hours and don't deliver, so that isn't an option to make the food stretch. Okay. We can make this work.
But then? The new-to-us car that we just bought back in March (that we're still paying on) suddenly died. It sounds like it's the starter. We're throwing everything we have at it, as our other car's brakes are on the verge of failing, and we can't risk that with the kids in the car. We've pulled all our savings, everything we had put aside for Alexander's birthday, money we had set aside for bills, the money I had set aside saving up for something for myself. The only money we haven't touched is the tiny bit we have left for food, and even if we pulled that too, it may not be enough to get the starter fixed. So I'm asking for help. I know most of us are in the same rough spot, but if you can afford to help, please, PLEASE consider it.
