Urgent Call for Help for Mystique
It's been a hell of a ride for Mystique so far. We received Mystique on September 29 after someone called and said " we found a kitten with a backwards foot". After arriving in a recyclable bag, at first glance, she seemed fine.. until she tried to walk. We could tell she was in alot of pain and she was running a high fever. The next day we brought her to our Primary vet where they performed blood work and took X-rays where it was determined that she had a pneumothorax, multiple pelvic fractures and a dislocated right hip... We immediately scheduled a consult with Animal Surgical Center where the vet said that she had no feeling left in that leg and the best decision would be to amputate. Unfortunately, Mystique was still very anemic and wouldn't make it threw surgery, so it was postponed. The night of October 7th, it was discovered that Mystique had a huge abscess on her right hip and it was beginning to drain. She was rushed to West Hills Animal Hospital where she was admitted for two days to ensure the abscess drained properly. After finishing her antibiotics and officially being cleared for surgery, Mystique is scheduled to have her right leg amputated next Tuesday ! As you can see, we ran into alot of bumps on the way to helping Mystique feel better. For xrays and testing was around $700, emergency visit was $1600 & to get Mystique's leg amputated will cost another $1600. This is what is/was necessary to help Mystique feel her best and live a normal healthy life. Any amount would be greatly appreciated!
