Urgent Brain Surgery #2

Donation protected
Hello, and thank you for viewing this page.

My name is Allie, I'm 26, and I was diagnosed with incurable brain cancer in 2023 after a craniotomy to remove my first brain tumor.

I found out last week that I will be having a second brain surgery as soon as my new neurosurgeon can get me on his schedule. Within the next two to three weeks, at the latest.

**Update: I found out that not only is the brain tumor growing after the first surgery, it's fanning outward and growing in all directions away from the midline of the brain. Basically, I'm toast. Part of the tumor can be removed, but part of it now cannot be touched, as it will cause permanent paralysis on my left side. I will have to do chemo and/or radiation after my surgery. Hoping I live at least five more years, who knows.****************************************************************************

A second brain tumor popped up last year, and we were waiting and checking it regularly to see if it would continue to grow and how quickly. My second brain tumor is actively growing and has been causing worsening symptoms. So, here I am, again - scrambling to get my ducks in a row before an urgent brain surgery.

I haven't been able to work for the past couple of months due to daily headaches, nausea, and dizziness. As well as severe fatigue, seizures, and sensitivity to light & smells.

I thought that by the time I needed more treatment for my cancer that I would be better prepared. I didn't think another tumor would pop up so quickly, but that's how this cancer is. The rest of my life will be about managing my symptoms. No cure, no remission, no fighting. I'm going to be meeting with the palliative care team soon so that we're acquainted before the inevitable future of this disease.

I feel embarrassed to start a fundraising page, but it's gotten to the point where I'm desperate, unfortunately.

I lost my insurance in November with only a few days' notice because my annual income was just above the qualifying cut-off for state insurance. There was some type of mistake in the system, so I couldn't apply for ANY type of insurance until the new year. That took weeks of red tape to get only somewhat figured out. I was completely uninsured for the month of November and paid over $500 for prescription medications. Medications for seizures, brain damage symptoms, and tumor symptoms - nausea, headaches, etc.

I've been having issues with my medical insurance ever since. I currently have over $10,000 in medical bills. Half of it because I couldn't continue going without my weekly therapy appointments after one month without.

I may or may not also be in an enormous amount of credit card debt.. When my checking account and savings dried up, I had to start using my credit cards and asking family for money to buy food, medications, and other basic necessities.

I am waiting to get approved for assistance from the state and the county, but processing times are between a few months to over a year to get approved. My goal with this fundraiser is to get caught up on my missed payments for my bills, get my bank account out of the negative, and get as prepared as possible for months of recovery with a couple of weeks notice. My left arm and leg were paralyzed after my first brain surgery, I’m back to about 85% of how I was before the surgery. The doctors don’t expect the second surgery to cause any specific deficits.

I am thanking my lucky stars for Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union - they allowed my auto-payments for my bills to go through for the entire month of January. So, even though my checking account is hundreds in the negative and all this is happening, I've still got a lot to be grateful for.

So, if you can and want to donate, I'd really appreciate it. Otherwise, just send some prayers, thoughts, and good vibes my way. I appreciate any and all forms of support.

Thank you!

Sincerely,

Allie G.
