My family is facing an emergency, and I am asking for help during one of the hardest moments of our lives. My mom, Deborah Apatiki, is currently in custody and needs $1,000 for bail. Under normal circumstances we would try to manage this on our own, but her health has taken a severe and frightening turn.

Last night, my mom suffered a stroke. The doctor has told us that her neurological condition is deteriorating, and she needs medical stability and care—not to be sitting in a jail cell. Despite her condition, she is scheduled to be transported to AMCC tomorrow, 12/27. I am terrified that without immediate help, her health will decline even further before she can receive the treatment she urgently needs.

My mom has been charged with terroristic behavior, but right now the priority is her safety and well‑being. She is vulnerable, confused, and physically unstable. Getting her out on bail is the only way to ensure she can be properly evaluated and cared for.
