Emergency Rental & Medical Assistance for Lisa

Hello friends & family, this is Lisa and I'm reaching out to you today from Tampa, Florida. I am in need of some urgent help with paying my rent for April and May which is $900 per month. Sadly, the day after I tragically lost my beloved great-nephew, who I absolutely loved and adored so much, I was informed that my long-term disability benefits, which has been my only source of income & provided my healthcare benefits was terminated. I am currently in the process of appealing this decision and prayerfully have my long-term disability benefits reinstated.
Honestly, I am STILL disabled with spine conditions such as degenerative disc disease that have gotten worse as I’ve aged. My last MRI in 2024 revealed spinal stenosis in my lumbar, and I have been to the ER twice in the last 4 months due to excruciating lumbar pain that was unbearable. A CT Scan of my lumbar at the ER in March-2025 showed moderate degenerative changes. In addition, the 2024 MRI on my right shoulder revealed I now have a full-thickness tear of the supraspinatus tendon in my rotator cuff that requires reconstructive surgery to repair.
Of course if I had it my way, I’d rather be working full-time earning a full salary with healthcare benefits I need included. Unfortunately, I am physically unable to work due to chronic and many times excruciating pain in my lumbar spine & right shoulder. Without my health insurance I also cannot see my primary doctor, orthopedic specialist or my neurosurgeon as well as afford prescription medications vital to other health conditions I have even with discount Rx card promo codes applied.
Due to no income at this time, I do not qualify for the premium tax credit for health insurance via the Healthcare Marketplace. My Medicaid application processing time is between 45 to 90 days.
Although I know I can’t physically work in my current health conditions, I have actually began to apply for employment but in particular work-from-home positions. But I am 58 years old and have been on disability for 4 years, so I’m realistic enough to know that although employers are not supposed to age discriminate, some would rather not take the chance and hire me over a younger, qualified, & healthy applicant with a steady work history. And even if I am hired, a new employer will not keep me employed if I miss days of working due to my chronic pain.
As embarrassing as it really was for me to type this, I would be even more disappointed in myself if I didn’t do everything I could to hopefully come up with the necessary funds to cover my rent & medications but most importantly to keep a roof over my head. I currently rent from a private homeowner who is understandably concerned that I will not be able to cover my rent going forward.
Any contribution, no matter how small, would be a blessing to me and go forward in reaching my goal. Feel free to share the link if you choose to do so.
I truly appreciate your understanding, kindness and support.
