I have been struggling financially the past several years but have been too proud to speak about it publicly. In 2021, I bought a house with my ex a few months before Hurricane Ida and unfortunately had 4 trees land on the house, rendering our house unlivable. Our insurance company went bankrupt and we did not receive money for over a year. The situation left me tens of thousands of dollars in debt, which I have been paying off the last 3 years. I have been working very hard to improve my financial situation by taking on extra tutoring jobs and working summer school every year to catch up financially. Unfortunately, this week I was involved in a fender bender that will set me back $1600. I feel devastated by this because I was planning to use this money for a security deposit on an apartment Yumi and I plan to move into this month.

Our security deposit is $1680, which we cannot currently afford. If you are able to contribute any amount of money to help us pay for our security deposit, I would be very appreciative.
