Urgent Assistance for Neffy in Brazil

Hi I am Mimi Peleg and I am raising funds for my friend Cynthia’s daughter who is a talented Tattoo Artist and model. While leaving Brazil to fly back to London she was detained by the Brazilian Federal Police. Cynthia was on the phone with Neffy when they took her into custody. Several hours later they used her phone, pretending to be her, sending Cynthia messages saying she was "on flight." Because of this it took a while to understand that Neffy was being detained and required immediate assistance. Once it was clear that she never reached her destination Cynthia reached out to the airport, airline and Federal Police.Cynthia was refused information. She contacted the local Chabad House who took action immediately. Chabad found a Lawyer who discovered that not only had Neffy been detained but she was thrown into a very dangerous prison in Benfica, Rio De Janero. Chabad alerted the Israeli and American embassies immediately. Cynthia contacted the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Israel. Now it is almost one week later and Cynthia has been lied to twice: first she was told her daughter was never detained and then that she boarded a flight to Portugal. They said she was no longer in Brazil and there was nothing more they could do to help locate Neffy. Her status at this time was "missing" which is highly illegal both in Brazilian and International law. You don't get to take people from other countries, throw them in your prisons, use their phones pretending to be them to tell family members that you are aboard a flight while you are really being processed through a prison system. Neffy, who I have known since she was 14 years old, is sleeping on a cold unsanitary concrete floor with no blanket. It is Winter in Brazil and she doesn't speak Portuguese or have money to purchase a sleeping mat or blanket. She is severly asthmatic and has no medicine. Her Lawyer describes her as being in very poor shape surrounded by rats and roaches. Benfica prison is well known for its subhuman conditions. I am fundraising on Neffy's behalf so she can get some commissary and survive this nightmare and being to pay the legal fees.
