Hello, my name is Lela and as much as I hate to admit this, I need help. I am a 34 week pregnant mother of two and I foster my young nephew. Unfortunately, I was showing signs of preeclampsia and ended up in the hospital a few weeks ago. I have Multiple Sclerosis and ended up having a relapse while being treated for my preeclampsia, which landed me there for a few extra nights. My neurologist will not sign off on my going back to work (I am a nurse at the Anchorage Jail) until after the baby is here.

My husband has had an injury for a few months, at this point, that has prevented him from working. Neither of us have any leave built up and are struggling to pay our bills. At this point, we are scared we won’t be able to put food on the table for our kids by the end of the week.

We are applying for assistance but this could take a few weeks. We are praying that we will be back on our feet soon. Blessings to anyone that may be able to help us, even if it’s just a small amount.
