UPDATE:
Thanks to your generosity, we were able to move into a small room by our neighborhood school. However, without help I will not be able to afford rent on the 1st, and we will lose our housing. As there is still no availability in DV shelters, this is an extremely frightening possibility.
If you’re able to help us, the money will allow us to pay rent on the 1st of August, and continue to have a safe space to call home. Please help if you can.
If anyone is experiencing domestic violence, please call the National Domestic Violence Hotline. God Bless, and stay safe.
*****************
I’m reaching out to family and friends for help. I am a domestic violence victim. My separated husband abused me in every sense of the word - physically, emotionally, psychologically, financially. After completing a 45-day emergency DV program, I have been desperately searching for a longer-term program, but nothing is currently available and every program I call is “at capacity.”
I am asking anyone who is able to help pay for motel rooms and food until a bed is available in a transitional home for domestic violence victims. I do not qualify for government safety net programs such as cash aid due to fraud committed by my ex and am really in a desperate situation. Please help if you can.
If you’re experiencing domestic violence please call the National DV hotline at (800) [phone redacted].
