Hello, my name is Tatenda, and I am raising funds on behalf of my aunt Samantha Sibanda
We are urgently seeking your help to save the life of Samantha Sibanda, lovingly known as Teacher Sammy, a twenty five -year-old preschool teacher whose life has been shattered by a sudden and devastating diagnosis: Acute Myeloid Leukemia ((AML), an aggressive blood cancer that is not only life-threatening but also fast spreading.
But What is Acute Myeloid Leukemia….?
Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is a fast-growing cancer of the bone marrow and blood where immature white blood cells multiply uncontrollably, crowding out healthy blood cells. This interference can lead to symptoms like anemia, increased infection risk, and easy bruising or bleeding. Untreated, it is a serious disease, but current therapies, including chemotherapy, stem cell transplants, and newer targeted treatments, can lead to a cure in many cases
How It All Began
It started with what seemed like harmless blisters and swelling. But when tests came back, Samantha received the unthinkable news that she has leukemia. Doctors have advised that she begin immediate, specialized treatment, part of which must take place in India, where advanced facilities offer her the best chance of recovery.
Current Condition
Samantha is currently admitted at Parirenyatwa Hospital, where she is receiving chemotherapy, blood transfusions, and platelets. Her condition remains critical and requires urgent and continuous medical care.
Who Is Teacher Sammy?
To her little learners, she is “Teacher Sammy,” the patient, warm, and kind-hearted teacher who fills the classroom with laughter and love. To parents and colleagues, she is a dedicated educator, always neatly dressed, cheerful, and deeply passionate about shaping young lives.
At just twenty five, Samantha represents the hope and energy of a new generation of teachers committed to nurturing children in their earliest years. She is married to Jabulani, also a teacher, and together they are raising their beautiful daughter, Davina, who is just 1 year and 7 months old. Their young family has always lived modestly, filled with dreams, faith, and love.
A Family in Crisis
This illness has turned their world upside down. As two dedicated teachers, Samantha and Jabulani have very limited means. Despite their efforts and the generosity of friends and family, they have only managed to raise $7,000 so far.
But the total cost for Samantha’s treatment, travel, and medical care in India is $35,000 USD. That leaves a shortfall of $28,000 that urgently needs to be raised.
Without timely treatment, her condition will worsen rapidly. But with your help, Samantha has a real chance to live, to return to her students, her husband, and her little girl.
A Word from Samantha
Even in her pain, Samantha’s spirit remains strong:
“I believe God gave me the gift of teaching for a reason, to prepare young learners for life. I still have so much to give. I’m praying for strength and trusting that help will come so I can get back to my classroom and my family.”
❤️ How You Can Help
Your compassion can give Samantha the gift of life. Here’s how you can make a difference:

No act of kindness is too small. Together, we can give Teacher Sammy a second chance to keep teaching, to keep loving, and to keep living.
Let’s help Teacher Sammy fight leukemia and win.
Behind every classroom is a teacher who gives her all. You can help Teacher Sammy continue to enjoy what she loves the most, - teaching.
