Save Sami & His Mother from the Brink of Genocide

Imagine a life where your simplest dream is to experience normalcy – this is the harsh reality for our friend Sami, who was born in the tumultuous Gaza Strip. Unlike many of us who have the privilege of a peaceful childhood and the joy of carefree youth, Sami's life has been a relentless witness to the horrors of war. Despite facing the wrath of continual conflict and living under the shadow of relentless assaults, Sami held on to his dreams. A graduate in engineering, he was building a life until the unspeakable happened.

On October 7th, everything changed. The devastating wave of violence swept through Gaza, leaving Sami with nothing but ruins. His home was obliterated, his cherished job lost, and his life savings, earmarked for a modest evacuation in Egypt, were nearly drained.

Amidst this chaos, Sami and his mother faced the harrowing ordeal of evacuating seven times. Each time they sought refuge in a new shelter, hoping for safety, they were compelled to evacuate again due to relentless bombings. Their evacuations were marked by waving white flags, leaving behind all their possessions. Consequently, they had to repurchase their essentials at inflated prices, adding to the challenges they faced.

In one instance, they sought shelter in a location surrounded by tanks for nine days. Tragically, during their stay, the neighboring building was bombed on the fourth day, resulting in the collapse of the apartments above them. The aftermath exposed them to the distressing sight of lifeless bodies amid the rubble. The night was spent grappling with the intimidating task of recovering the deceased from beneath the wreckage, leaving them with indelible memories of the horrors witnessed during those tumultuous times.

Today, we reach out to you with a plea that transcends borders and speaks to the core of our humanity. We are mobilizing this fundraiser with the sole purpose of rescuing Sami and his mother from the precipice of death.

Cost: $5000 per person, $10,000 in total for two people.

Purpose: Covering the expenses of safe travel from the war-torn Gaza Strip to Egypt.
