We urgently appeal for support for Nigsti Keshi Gidey Woldemichael, an Eritrean mother of five currently in Bangkok, Thailand, battling a life-threatening illness. She was born and raised in Geza Kenisha, Asmara, to Keshi Gidey Woldemichael and Mrs Roma Gebreslasie Untra, and is the wife of Mr Andemariam Teklemichael (Wekiro).

Nigsti has been suffering from Stage 3 rectal cancer for the past two years. She was first diagnosed in Eritrea and later travelled to Ethiopia, where she underwent major open surgery (laparotomy) that resulted in a permanent colostomy (ostomy bag). After recovering, she returned home before travelling to Thailand to continue treatment.

In Thailand, doctors have prescribed continuous targeted therapy because her white blood cell count is extremely low (leukopenia), making chemotherapy unsafe at this stage. Due to the high cost of treatment, some medications are sourced from another country, while intravenous treatments continue in Thailand. She also requires medication every two weeks to support her critically low white blood cell count. Most urgently, she now requires radiation therapy.

For the past nine months, Nigsti has endured severe physical and emotional suffering while being separated from her children, who remain back home with her husband. Her condition and surgery have significantly affected her daily life and dignity.

So far, nearly USD 130,000 has been spent on medical care, accommodation, medication, food, and basic living expenses. Ongoing costs are approximately USD 16,000–17,000 per month, and the total amount needed remains uncertain due to the length of treatment.

Doctors have advised that radiation therapy is her only remaining option. This treatment will be long and intensive, especially given her weakened immune system.

After exhausting all personal and family resources, the family is now humbly reaching out to the community for help.

ኣብ ታይላንድ፡ ኣብዚ እዋንዚ፥ ቁጽሪ ጻዕዳ ዋህዮታት ደማ ኣዝዩ ትሑት (ሉኮፔንያ) ስለዝኾነ፡ ኣብዚ ደረጃ እዚ ድማ ኬሞቴራፒ (chemotherapy) ውሑስ ከምዘይኮነ ሓቢሮም፡ ቀጻሊ ዝኾነ ታርጌት ተራፒ: ዓይነት ሕክምና ትወስድ ኣላ። ብሰንኪ ክብሪ ዋጋ ናይቲ ዓይነት ፍወሳ፡ ገለ መድሃኒታት ካብ ካልእ ሃገር ብምስዳድ፡ ኣብ ታይላንድ ድማ ብውሽጢ ሰራውር ብዝግበር ሕክምና ይቕጽል ኣሎ። ነቲ ኣዝዩ ትሑት ቁጽሪ ጸዓዱ ዋህዮታት ደም ንምድጋፍ: ኣብ ነፍሲ ወከፍ ክልተ ሰሙን፡ ተወሳኺ መድሃኒት የድልያ። ሕጂ ብህጹጽ ናይ ጨረርታ ዓይነት ፍወሳ ምቕጻል የድልያ ኣሎ፡:

ንዝሓለፉ ትሽዓተ ኣዋርሕ፡ ካብቶም ምስ በዓል ቤታ ኣብ ገዝኣ ዝተረፉ ደቃ ተፈልያ፡ ከቢድ ኣካላውን ስምዒታውን ስቓይ ተጻዊራ። ኩነታታን መጥባሕታን ኣብ መዓልታዊ ህይወታ ከቢድ ጽልዋ ኣሕዲሩላ ይርከብ።

ክሳብ ሕጂ ዳርጋ 130 ሽሕ ዶላር ኣብ ሕክምናዊ ክንክን፡ መንበሪ፡ መድሃኒት፡ መግቢን መሰረታዊ ወጻኢታት መነባብሮን ወጺኡ ኣሎ። ቀጻሊ ወጻኢታት ኣብ ወርሒ ኣስታት 16,000–17,000 ዶላር ኮይኑ፡ ብሰንኪ ንውሓት ሕክምና ድማ ጠቕላላ ዘድሊ መጠን ገንዘብ ከቢድ ኮይኑ ይርከብ።

ሓካይም፡ ፍወሳ ጨረርታ እታ እንኮ ዝተረፈት ኣማራጺኣ ምዃና መኺሮምዋ ኣለዉ። እዚ ዓይነት ሕክምና እዚ: ብፍላይ ድኹም ስርዓተ ምክልኻል ዓቕማ ኣብ ግምት ብምእታው: ነዊሕን ጽዑቕን ክኸውን እዩ።
