Horses for mental health, help save our stables!

Hi, welcome to our international write up on Lads Lodge, Penton, Carlisle, Cumbria.

Lads Lodge opened in 2019, offering an excellent level of riding classes incorporating Equestrian Vaulting. Lads Lodge is open to all ages children, teenagers, adults and those with disabilities.

All members recieve 5 star from Sabine Bliss the owner and German competition rider. Sabines expertise and outstanding teaching ability along with a caring, empathetic attitude is given to all at Lads Lodge is second to none.

To immerse social, mental health and welfare benefits are an invaluable asset to the community and beyond.

Running summer camps and pony days, learning about horses and having fun too!

Her horses are also very privileged to have such a knowledgeable, caring owner. Enjoying a happy, healthy life, whilst giving all a wonderful 'ride' and connection to horses with a beneficial and therapeutic effect to all.

Tragically in September 2022, Sabine suffered the devastating loss of her partner Derek. They ran Lads Lodge together. Sabine has continued to run Lads Lodge since then, offering the same level of excellence. Sadly due to circumstances beyond Sabines control, Lads Lodge is under threat of closure. The impact of the many people of all ages that see Lads Lodge as their sanctuary and a place to forget about their troubles, would be a completely and utterly devastating loss to all users and workers across the community. Many lives have been changed for the better. There is a need to provide facilities of social welfare to help to improve conditions of life to all. Unfortunately Derek never got round to putting a will in place and Derek's passing was such a sad and tragic loss and has impacted the lives of not only the ones close to him but those of the riding school too. Derek would have always wanted Sabine to be able to continue doing what she does best and in order for this to be possible we need to raise these funds to secure the property and remain at Lads Lodge.

We have set our target at £30,000 at moment but the more we raise the higher the chances to enable Lads Lodge to stay open. Lads Lodge humbly asks for donations, no, matter how big or small to enable future plans to turn Lads Lodge into a social enterprise and keep an invaluable asset to the community that will grow and provide a welfare benefit to children, teenagers, adults, people with disabilities and future users. Where there is a provision to improve mental health, develop self esteem and confidence, in a safe relaxed environment and many more can experience this wonderful place.
