*August 2025 Update *
It is over a year since we last posted an update, and it has been a very difficult year. We want to share our story with you and ask for your continued support. Our children Omar (age 4) and Malak (age 1) are as well as can be in the current circumstances, but Malak's entire life and much of Omar's life has been defined by danger, deprivation, and displacement. Malak was born into bombing and spent her early days in the NICU in a city under attack. Thankfully she was eventually able to come home with us, but there wasn't a true "home" to bring her to. We were displaced multiple times before we could finally return to the north of Gaza, where we are from. Our ruined home is not livable. We dream to rebuild, but that is a distant dream at this time as we and all in Gaza City are instructed to leave again and go south. Over the course of the year our family, like all the people in Gaza, have suffered from the lack of food, medicine, water, and everything else. Many items are unavailable, and when necessities are available the prices are exorbitant. For example, baby diapers are very rare and the price has increased fifteen times. We feel great pain as parents to an infant and a young child - we desperately wish to provide them with everything they need to thrive but that is not possible in the current conditions. Our work as a dentist and a computer engineer has been disrupted by the destruction of our workplaces and multiple displacements, making the limited goods available at highly elevated prices unaffordable for us. I am trying to find a replacement for my no longer functional laptop so that I can continue to work in some capacity and generate some income for our family. We are urgently asking for your financial support to help our family survive. Your support will help us with the necessities of life and also help to keep our hope alive in these very difficult days. Thank you for your care for our family.
Hello,
"I'm Momen's cousin, and I'm managing this campaign on his behalf. Momen, who is a resident of Gaza, is facing difficult circumstances due to the ongoing war. He wants to convey a heartfelt message to you."
I'm Momen, and I'm reaching out because my family is in desperate need of your help. My wife, Sara, I, and our son Omar are facing an unimaginable nightmare here in Gaza. I work as a computer engineer, and Sara is a dentist. Just a year ago, we were filled with joy, having finally secured our own home. Sara, with her work, was striving to spread smiles and happiness. Now, that home is gone, destroyed by the war in Gaza. This is our last chance to escape and ensure the safety of our family, including our unborn baby girl. Can you lend us a hand?
Our dreams were shattered when bombs fell and destroyed everything we had worked so hard for.
Now, Sara is eight months pregnant with our baby girl, and the fear is overwhelming. With no access to medical care or support, every day is a battle for survival. Our hearts ache with the knowledge that this may be our last chance to keep our family alive.

For over 160 days now, we've been living in fear, uncertainty, and despair. The war has not only robbed us of our dreams and livelihoods but also our sense of security, and laughter, The basic necessities of life have become luxuries beyond our reach. We cannot secure food, water, or even basic supplies to sustain ourselves. What's worse is that there are no medical services available to us. Leaving Gaza seems like an impossible dream, with exorbitant costs and logistical challenges due to the ongoing conflict.
In a desperate attempt to find safety, the path to safety has been fraught with danger. From fleeing Gaza to Khan Younis, then navigating through airstrikes and shootings to reach Rafah, it's nothing short of a miracle that we're still alive. Our two-year-old son, Omar, deserves a childhood free from the horrors of war, but we can't shield him from the constant threat.

As a software engineer in Gaza, my work has been heavily impacted by the ongoing conflict. With unreliable electricity and internet, my workspace, once a hub of productivity, now lies in ruins. Despite these challenges, I'm determined to provide for my family. Your support can help us secure a safer future.
Our son, Omar, is just two years old, yet he has already seen more fear and destruction than any child should. We long to give him the childhood he deserves, free from the constant threat of violence.

Sara's pregnancy should be a time of joy and anticipation. Instead, it's filled with worry and fear. We had hoped to welcome our baby girl into the world in the safety and peace of our own home. Imagine the happiness of our beloved son, Omar, becoming a big brother. Now, that dream feels like a distant memory.
Omar was born at Al-Karama Hospital, a place we trusted for the birth of our new baby girl. However, the hospital, like many others, lies in ruins due to the bombings. Our dream of welcoming our daughter into a safe world has been shattered.

We need to escape Gaza, and we need to do it now. But we can't do it alone. Egyptian authorities require $5000 for each adult and $2500 for each child to cross through the Rafah border crossing. In addition, we need $500 to expedite our travel and $1500 for urgent expenses. Altogether, we need $14,500 to make it happen.
I'd like to make it clear that my cousin will be facilitating the transfer of the funds to me
This is our last chance to keep our family safe and ensure the safe arrival of our baby girl. Can you help us? Your support could mean the difference between life and death for us. Please consider donating and sharing our story. Let's show the world that even in the darkest of times, there is still hope. Thank you for your kindness and compassion.
With hope and gratitude,
Momen and Sara
