Trans Arrivals Kenya is a trans-led, grassroots safe house and emergency shelter supporting transgender refugees and displaced persons — primarily from Uganda and neighboring countries. They provide vital, often life-saving services to some of the most vulnerable members of the LGBTQ+ community in East Africa.

This includes:

Access to HIV medication and hormone therapy (HRT)

Safe shelter and emergency housing

Food, clean water, and other daily essentials

Trauma-informed care and emotional support

A sense of community and chosen family

Recently, Trans Arrivals Kenya faced a devastating attack. Their shelter was targeted by a violent mob, resulting in injuries and the loss of many essential supplies. Since then, they’ve been operating in extreme fear and instability, doing everything they can to protect one another while continuing to support those who rely on them.

They are now in urgent need of support to:

Relocate to a safer, more secure location

Replace stolen and destroyed essentials

Continue providing basic healthcare, food, and shelter

Rebuild their safe haven and restore a sense of safety and dignity
