Evacuate my family from the Horrors of War in Gaza

With a heart heavy with fear and desperation, I, Luna Sabah, write to you today on behalf of my dear brother, Dr. Raed Sabbah, and our entire family, who are trapped amidst the devastating conflict in Gaza. In recent months, the toll of innocent lives lost in Gaza has been catastrophic, with over 32,000 souls gone and 7,000 still missing. Our family has not been spared from this turmoil, and we find ourselves teetering on the edge of danger with each passing moment.

Amid forced evacuation at 2 AM, my dear mother who is diabetic slipped on the stairs, and now she suffers in agony without access to the medical care she desperately needs. The dire conditions in Gaza make it increasingly difficult for her to receive the treatment she urgently needs. My brother Raed is a physician serving in Gaza, he has dedicated his life to healing and caring for those in need amidst the turmoil of conflict. However, the escalating violence and instability have placed his family in grave danger, and he is reaching out to you for help in evacuating them to safety. His wife Soha Sabbah, a pillar of strength and support, is now burdened with the responsibility of caring for the family amid the chaos of war. His daughter Sara, a first-year medical student, had her aspirations shattered by the relentless bombardment that has gripped our city and destroyed her university. His daughter Lyan, just 15 years old, once shared her father’s dream of becoming a doctor, but now her innocence has been shattered by the horrors of the war. Once full of life and energy, his sons Yousef and Eyas now live in constant fear for their safety and well-being. The trauma of war casts a shadow over every aspect of their lives, infecting their dreams with nightmares and our days with dread.

Dr. Raed, a devoted physician, is determined to secure a future for his children amidst the chaos of war. He longs to provide them with safety, stability, and the opportunity to thrive, away from the horrors that surround them. However, the barriers to their escape are formidable.

Rafah, where they currently find themselves, is under the ominous shadow of a widespread attack, leaving them without shelter. Even Gaza City, once our home, is now uninhabitable. It is a desperate plea for survival. Immediate evacuation is our only hope to preserve the lives of my family.

Egypt, the beacon of hope in our darkest hour, offers a chance for safety and security. However, the cost of evacuation is beyond our means. Egypt demands $10,000 for each family member to allow them to leave Gaza, totalling $50,000 for Raed's family alone. We cannot hope to afford a staggering sum without your compassionate assistance.
