Urgent Appeal for Pastor Doug Darby’s Medical Bills
Don protégé
This is the Hall family in the UK and we are raising funds to help pay for the Medical Bills for our beloved Brother, Uncle, Father, Grandfather and Pastor Doug Darby to many…
Please help Pastor Doug Darby on his Medical Journey. His wife Di Darby will provide regular updates.
Pastor Doug Darby, a dedicated servant of God who has spent the last 43 years ministering at New Life Center Church in Gweru, Zimbabwe, is facing a life-threatening health challenge.
Last week, Pastor Doug was diagnosed with a Brain Tumour that required emergency Neurosurgery. While we await further test results to determine the best course of treatment ahead, the emergency surgery has already exhausted his medical insurance coverage. There is a shortfall of £20k due now to cover the cost of this emergency surgery and ICU admission up to date. With further treatment such as post op Rehabilitation still desperately needed.
Pastor Doug, originally from Zimbabwe, attended Christ For the Nations International in Dallas, Texas, and has tirelessly served his community and the wider Southern African region through his ministry.
Please consider helping Pastor Doug receive the care he needs to recover so that he can continue helping and serving others. Your prayers for Pastor Doug, his wife Di, their children, and grandchildren are deeply appreciated.
Please help support Pastor Doug during this challenging time.
God bless and thank you for your support. Xxx
Update on 20th Feb 2025: Good morning dear friends and family. Sorry that it’s been a while since an update on our side. We were making great progress last week - getting stronger day by day and Doug was managing to stand and walk fair distances using his walker. We had the all clear on Friday and traveled back to Gweru on Sunday - and were excited to be home. Unfortunately Doug was very tired and weak on Monday. Yesterday we decided to call the Dr who thinks maybe there is some swelling in the brain - He has put him on steroids which will hopefully help bring down the swelling. Doug is definitely more alert and not as tired today - but is still very weak unfortunately. It is wonderful to be in our home, with the dogs and cat, and we will have all 3 of our kids together (Sarah arrived Saturday and Matt arrives today) also 3 of our grand-kids around and about. Please pray for strength in Doug as he is still weak in his body. Please pray for wisdom on the steps we should take and where is best to go for treatment. We are already booked to fly to Cape Town on Friday 28th February and we have a appointment set up with an oncologist there on 5th March .... However if Doug is not strong enough to travel then we need to look at having treatment in Harare. And please continue to believe with us for Doug's healing. THANK YOU SO MUCH again for all your donations, messages and prayers ! Have a blessed week
