In the midst of ongoing conflicts, we urgently ask for your support for 13-year-old Lamees Abu Salim in Gaza. Since her childhood, Lamees has been courageously fighting white matter disease, a condition that she has faced challenges throughout her young life. She faces the burden of general muscle weakness, a struggle that began when she took her first steps at age three and a half. Despite these physical challenges, Lamees continues to excel intellectually, displaying her remarkable cognitive abilities
Lamees, who has special needs, also suffers from complete scoliosis. This led to difficulty in movement and respiratory problems. Lamees was scheduled to be transferred abroad to the West Bank before the brutal aggression, which hindered her travel. The ongoing war has disrupted basic services and medical facilities, making it more difficult for Lamees to access care due to severe spinal deformity and muscle weakness.
efforts to obtain medical expertise outside Gaza have been hampered by the protracted conflict. The reports and examinations were shared with doctors from outside the region, who unanimously agreed on the urgent need for spinal surgery.
In the heart of Gaza's turmoil, Lamees bears the weight of relentless conflict. Hospital bombings, wars, destruction, and pervasive fear have woven a tapestry of hardship. Amidst poverty's grip, Lamees stands resilient, a symbol of strength amidst adversity.
The donations will be allocated to cover the costs of transporting Lamees from Gaza and covering the costs associated with her urgent surgical intervention.
