Urgent appeal for Danny's medical emergency
Donation protected
We are reaching out to you today with an urgent appeal for support. Danny was umpiring baseball games on Monday in the Texas heat when he “went down”. Danny completely lost consciousness and immediately started having seizures, one right after another. Luckily, there were several amazing people nearby that ran over and started CPR and shouting orders to get others to help as well. His amazing umpiring partner ran to get the defibrillator to help stabilize him also. The ambulance quickly came, saline IVs were immediately started, he was sedated, intubated, and taken to Baylor Hospital in Frisco. Once in the ER, a CT scan and blood tests were done. The CT scan showed swelling in the brain and his blood showed dangerously low levels of electrolytes, especially salt, and dangerously high levels of creatine kinase in it, putting him in danger of liver failure.
Danny needed to remain sedated until an MRI showed that the swelling in his brain was gone…that FINALLY happened, and he opened those beautiful blue eyes around 12:15 Thursday afternoon, Thank God!
We are still waiting for the levels of CK to decrease. Until then, he will remain in ICU. The costs associated with these medical procedures and the hospitalization are substantial, far beyond what we can manage alone. That is why we are launching this fundraiser campaign to help ease the financial burden that our family will face during this difficult time. Your contribution, no matter the amount, can make a significant difference in Danny’s recovery journey.
