The devastating earthquake that hit Burma/Myanmar on 28th March has affected the whole country, including Kawthoolei (Karen State) area.
In Kawthoolei, the Taw Oo District and Kler Lwee Htu District were most seriously impacted by the earthquake. Hundreds of families have lost their homes and are in urgent need of support.
While the Burmese military has allowed aid in central Burma, and media focus on that, in areas freed from Burmese military occupation they are still blocking aid, including into Kawthoolei.
The only way to get aid to those who need it is through local community organisations.
Your donation will go to the UK based registered charity, Phan Foundation, who will give the money to the Karen Peace Support Network (KPSN), a coalition of Karen civil society organisation helping people on the ground.
Even as communities respond to the earthquake, the Burmese military are continuing their attacks. Please donate today. Your support will make a real difference on the ground.
Thank you so much.
