Hello, I’m Sam and I’m married to a wonderful and very Proud Filipina called Belvic.
We live in the UK, and I wanted to share some heartbreaking news about Typhoon Tino’s devastating impact on our friends & family in Compostela, Cebu, Philippines. This storm brought torrential rains and fierce winds, leaving a trail of catastrophic damage across the region.
Some of our family members have lost almost everything. The flooding has contaminated the water sources and ruined the few supplies they had saved. Now, many are left with nothing but the clothes on their backs and the overwhelming task of starting over from scratch.
Where Your Donation Goes
We have launched this GoFundMe campaign to provide immediate, critical support and help them begin the long process of recovery. Every penny, pound, dollar or kind gesture will go directly towards these vital needs:
- Emergency Supplies (Food & Water): Providing clean drinking water, non-perishable food and essential hygiene items for the immediate future.
- Medical Needs: Ensuring they have access to basic medications and first aid, as pharmacies and clinics in the area are often impacted after a disaster.
- Temporary Shelter & Safety: Purchasing basic materials like tarps and lumber to secure a temporary, safe place to sleep and protect them from ongoing rain.
If we're able to raise enough then we'd be putting the rest into
- Rebuilding Materials: Buying cinder blocks, roofing sheets and cement to start rebuilding a simple, permanent structure where they can feel safe again.
Please Help Us Rebuild Hope
My family in Cebu have always been resilient, but the scale of this disaster is simply too much to face alone.
They are kind, hard-working people who need a helping hand to get back on their feet. Any contribution, no matter the size, will translate directly into materials, food and medicine.
If you cannot donate, please think about sharing this appeal with your friends and family. Spreading the word is just as important and helps us reach our goal to support those who need it most right now.
Thank you so much for reading our story and for your generosity. God bless you.
We will try keep you in the loop with regular updates, to show you exactly how your donation is making a difference in Cebu.
