Hello everyone, my name is Gian.
I’m Filipino, born and raised in Cebu City, Philippines, now living in the UK. I know Cebu like the back of my hand, it’s my second home, filled with kind, joyful, and resilient people. No matter where I am, Cebu will always be my home.
On November 4, Typhoon Tino made landfall in the Visayas region, devastating communities across Cebu. Flash floods tore through neighborhoods, forcing families to climb onto their roofs as water filled their homes. Many watched everything they’d worked so hard for wash away in a matter of hours. Thousands of families have lost their homes, their loved ones, and even their beloved pets.
Every £ donated will go directly to a real family in need. I am in close contact with my relatives and friends in Cebu, many of whom are safe and have volunteered to help distribute food, water, and essential supplies to those most affected. While my immediate family is safe, our wider community is in urgent need of support.
In the short term, families need:
• Food and clean drinking water
• Clothing and shoes for both children and adults
• Hygiene kits
• Blankets and supplies for children
In the long term, they will need:
• Building materials to rebuild their homes and livelihoods
Your donations can make a real impact:
• £5 (≈ 350 PHP) provides around 10–15 bottles of water or 2 meals
• £10 (≈ 700 PHP) provides around 24 bottles of water or 4–6 meals
All donations will be collected here in the UK and sent directly to trusted volunteers leading local aid and relief efforts in Talisay City, Liloan, Compostela, and Mandaue.
I know that donating is a privilege not everyone can afford, so if you can’t contribute financially, please help by sharing this link and raising awareness about this devastating climate disaster in Cebu.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your kindness, generosity, and compassion.
