We are Tom & Teresa Keown.

On August 3, 2025 our world literally came crashing down. We were sitting in our living room, heard a loud pop and felt the ground move. Tom immediately went outside to discover that a 100' oak tree on our property was starting to lean towards our house, as it continued to pop and crack. Tom came back in our front door and told me that we have to get out of the house immediately. The very instant I stepped out of the door and onto the front porch this HUGE monster of a tree came crashing down on our house and completely covered our backyard.

There is an extensive amount of damage to the house and property. The metal roof on the entire backside of the house has to be replaced.

Crushing several roof trusses, destroying the northern most corner on the backside of the house. The repairs needed for the house as well as the removal of the tree are going to cost upwards of $100,000 which we do NOT have. We are both disabled and on a fixed income. Due to financial restraints we had to let our insurance lapse earlier this year.

We have been married for 37 ½ years. We have owned our home for 34 years. We raised our 3 son's in this home. Tom is a Veteran of The United States Army. He suffers from extreme PTSD. He worked for 20 years out of his Local Laborers Union. Currently he is disabled and can no longer work.

I (Teresa) worked in retail management and hospitality for many years.

I was injured when a ceiling at a local establishment collapsed on me, requiring me to have back surgery. A few years later I was diagnosed with stage 4 Melanoma Cancer. I went through a year of chemotherapy (which has caused many other health issues) I was too sick and too weak to continue working. I am disabled. Please keep us in your prayers and blessings to all.

We have had some estimates on the repairs needed on our home and removal of the rest of the tree and cleanup. Any help or donations will be greatly appreciated. A rough estimate just on our home is roughly $40,000. That amount could most likely be more depending on what structural damage they find during the repair of our home.

We KNOW IT'S A LONG SHOT BUT... Do any of you know anyone from HGTV, ANY of the home improvement shows, Chip & Joanna Gaines, etc??? Any other ideas? Thanks!
