A devastating snowstorm recently swept across the Jangthang region of Ladakh, in Northern India, home to hundreds of Tibetan nomadic families. This severe weather event claimed the lives of over 4,000 livestock—a tragic loss that has directly impacted more than 240 families who rely entirely on their animals for food, income, and survival.
These families live in one of the harshest climates on Earth, where sheep, goats, and yaks are more than animals—they are life itself. The loss of livestock means the collapse of their livelihood, a deep cultural wound, and the threat of displacement.
We are launching this GoFundMe campaign to provide a coordinated and an easy platform for generous folks to donate. The funds collected will be sent to the Central Tibetan Administration directly to help with urgent humanitarian aid to the affected families.
This is more than just an appeal—it’s a call for compassion and global solidarity. Together, we can help these Tibetan families survive this tragedy and hold onto their way of life.
Please donate what you can and share this campaign with your network. Every contribution makes a difference.
With gratitude,
